*NABTEB: 67.56% of Candidates Secure Five Credits in Maths and English* The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has announced that 67.56% of candidates who sat for its recent examination obtained at least five credits, including Mathematics and English. Highlighting the significance of examination integrity, NABTEB emphasized that maintaining high standards is essential for strengthening the credibility and effectiveness of the education system. Efforts to combat examination malpractice remain a priority, with the board working alongside the Federal Ministry of Education to implement innovative strategies that promote academic integrity and authentic learning experiences. According to Registrar Prof. Ifeoma Mercy Asanga, 256 candidates—representing 0.53% of the total examinees—were caught engaging in malpractice. This marks a slight decline from the 2023 November/December exams, where 246 candidates (0.57%) were involved in similar offenses. Despite these achievements, NABTEB continues to face challenges, including funding constraints, public perception issues regarding technical and vocational education, curriculum limitations, access and equity concerns, as well as gaps in industry collaboration. Asanga stressed that addressing these issues requires adequate funding, legislative support, continuous curriculum review, teacher training, improved equipment, and the establishment of more technical colleges. ```Get Real-time News Updates From InsideFUTMX Media!
