*FUTMINNA Hosts CORBON Team for Professional Accreditation Visit* The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA) has welcomed the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON) for a professional accreditation visit to the Department of Building. The visit, held on Monday, February 24, 2025, took place at the Academic Publishing Centre on the university’s Main Campus. Leading the CORBON delegation, Prof. Yohana Izam praised FUTMINNA’s commitment to maintaining professional standards, noting that accreditation exercises are meant to enhance academic programs rather than criticize them. He emphasized the value of peer reviews in strengthening curricula, infrastructure, and laboratory facilities, all of which are crucial for practical-based programs like Building. In response, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta reaffirmed the university’s dedication to Environmental Sciences and highlighted the role of professional evaluations in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and hands-on training. He assured the CORBON team that FUTMINNA has invested in improving its facilities and welcomed further recommendations for development. Prof. Kuta also called on CORBON to help facilitate industry partnerships that would provide Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) opportunities, ensuring students gain valuable real-world experience in both public and private sectors. The accreditation team included Bldr. Adetunji Adeniran (mni), CORBON Registrar; Dr. Adejoh Ahmodu from the Nigerian Army University, Biu; and Dr. Abuh Noah Makoji from the Federal Polytechnic, Idah.
