The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna), Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, has emphasized the need for collaboration among key university units—including Departments, the Academic Office, and the Information Technology Services (ITS) Unit—to enhance result management processes.
Prof. Kuta made this call on February 25, 2025, while addressing participants at a one-day workshop organized by the Quality Assurance and Productivity Unit (QAPU).
Held at the School of Information and Communication Technology (SICT) New Lecture Theater, the workshop was themed "Best Practices for Effective Service Delivery: A Refresher Workshop for Academic Level Advisers, School and Departmental Examination Officers." It aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge on academic advising and result computation.
Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Engr. Prof. Abdullahi Muhammed, Prof. Kuta underscored the importance of safeguarding the result computation process across all levels—Departmental, School, Scrutiny, and Senate. He also highlighted the need for teamwork to ensure seamless and transparent academic operations.
He noted that the training provided a platform for participants to discuss challenges related to academic advising and result computation, ultimately enhancing service delivery across the university.
As part of the workshop, Engr. Prof. Abdullahi Muhammed presented a paper titled "Computation of Results: Feedback from Scrutiny," while the Director of the Academic Planning Unit (APU), Prof. John K. Alhassan, spoke on "Transition from BMAS to CCMAS: Matters Arising."
