Why acting on diabetes? In my beliefs, diabetes, especially type 2 diabetes, is the optimal preventable disease. I have a strong belief that as physicians and healthcare workers, we are ethically obliged to do everything possible to prevent chronic diseases from developing. This means acting on different levels: individual, professional, scientific, policy development and lobbying for the needs and potentials of people with diabetes risk and diabetes itself.
