*Justice and Peace Promoters Gather in Rome for Formation Week* From February 10-14, 2025, the annual Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) Formation Workshop is taking place in Rome. This year's theme, "Pilgrims of Hope for Systemic Transformation for the Common Good of All Creation," highlights the focus on enhancing the JPIC mission. Around 100 participants, including laypeople and religious from various countries, are attending the workshop both in person and virtually. The workshop aims to provide new promoters of religious congregations, as well as those already active, with tools to inspire and engage their communities in JPIC activities. The event emphasizes the methodology of seeing-judging-acting and fosters networking with other civil society and advocacy groups. Fr. Roy Thomas, co-Executive Secretary of the JPIC Commission, stressed the importance of collaboration and unity in addressing common issues. Sister Gretta Fernandes from India expressed hope and optimism despite current challenges, emphasizing the need for unity among all organizations and people worldwide. She highlighted the importance of rekindling hope and focusing on the ministry to support those on the margins, including migrants and refugees. The workshop also addresses the impact of changes in US government policies on JPIC organizations working with refugees and migrants. Sr. Fernandes called for finding alternative ways to support those affected by these changes and stressed the importance of collective efforts to address these issues. Overall, the JPIC Formation Workshop serves as a platform for participants to deepen their understanding of their mission, strengthen their networks, and explore new ways to promote justice, peace, and the common good in their communities.
