*Open Letter to President Paul Biya on his 92nd birthday celebration*.
Dear President Paul Biya,
As you celebrate your 92nd birthday today, we join your friends, family, and well-wishers in wishing you many more years of health and wisdom. However, we feel it is important to address some significant issues that have weighed heavily on the hearts of many Cameroonians, including ourselves;
You sowed a wrong seed by fighting your father, your mentor, and your predecessor, President Ahmadou Babatoura Ahidjo. ITS NOT TOO LATE TO DO THE RIGHT THING NOW.
Cameroon's presidency which was handed to you on the platter of gold by President Ahmadou Ahidjo, but rather than honoring this gift, you betrayed your predecessor and mentor. This is one of the key reasons why, despite your long rule, you have never truly been free in your own country and you seem to be so scared of Cameroonians coming together as one man, thats why you use the strategy of divide and rule, tribalism etc for 43 years to stay in power. It is also rumored that your late wife, First Lady Jeanne Irene Biya, did not die a natural death—a tragedy that further casts a shadow on your presidency. DON'T BE AFRAID THAT WE SHALL REVENGE ON BEHALF OF AHIDJO, WE SHALL FORGIVE AND PROTECT YOU AND PERIODICALLY TAKE WISE COUNSELS FROM YOU.
Your Excellency Sir,
For 43 years, your reign has been marked by intimidation, manipulation, and oppression. Under your leadership, the army, police, and gendarmerie serve only your interests and not the interests of the people. Citizens are silenced and oppressed, with freedoms of expression, opinion, and association labeled as insurrection, terrorism, treason or rebellion. We live in constant fear, knowing that speaking out could cost us everything including our very lives. IN ORDER TO LEAVE BEHIND A POSITIVE LEGACY, YOU MUST ENDEAVOR TO CORRECT THIS NOW.
*A Question to You, Mr. President:*
Your Excellency Sir,
Are you PROUD of your presidency? How can you lead a nation in the 21st century with an authoritarian and totalitarian system or oligarchy instead of the democracy you claim to practice?. Is it normal for a country to have over 85% of parliamentarians from your ruling party, CPDM, and only six senators from opposition parties out of hundred who were appointed out of shame as a political window dressing? Where on earth have you ever heard of Senators or governors being appointed? Why have you reduced our constitution to a legal newspaper and elevated yourself above it? Why must government officials—including but not limited to Ministers, the judiciary, legislative, police, and military—refer to you or await your command before making judgments? Why have you weaponized government institutions against the citizens of Cameroon? Why is that with only 30 million inhabitants in Cameroon, we have almost the same number of ministers like the nation of India ministers whose population is as much like the whole Africa? Why has Cameroon become a one-man show under your leadership? Why do you see yourself above the constitution, turning it into a mere legal newspaper to serve your interests? Why must every decision—from the judiciary to local governance—be made with your command? Are you the law of Cameroon or are you above Cameroon and its laws?
Freedom of expression, freedom of opinion, freedom of association, and even the freedom to live and dream big are labeled by your administration as insurrection, terrorism, rebellion, and treason. As such, every Cameroonian lives in fear, panic, and uncertainty, unfortunately, even your very members of government live in perpetual fear. Worse of all, this climate of fear has affected the media, where many have compromised their professional ethics for a few million and have been silenced or bought off by your administration. Why? Can't you pretend to give us at least press freedom?
*Corruption and Governance Failures:*
Under your rule, corruption has become a norm. Billions of dollars have been siphoned from the country, yet the people of Cameroon remain in poverty. Your government has failed to provide basic services like healthcare, education, and infrastructure. In 2022 and 2023, Cameroonians alleged that you were no longer in charge, but rather a puppet of your executive criminal syndicate collaborators. You confirmed this in your speech on December 31, 2023, because you failed to follow through on any of your promises made in that end of year speech, including the arrest of those involved in corruption. Instead, activists denouncing corruption have been arrested in and out of Cameroon, while the executive criminals in power continue to abuse their positions and enrich themselves with impunity.
*The Disasters Under Your Rule and how your administration commercialed and weaponized them:*
Since 1982, your presidency has seen major natural and unnatural disasters that were commercialized and weaponized by your administration. Your collaborators use these tragedies to enrich themselves while the victims suffer more. Some examples include:
Natural Disasters:
1. Lake Monoun Disaster (August 15, 1984) – A limnic eruption at Lake Monoun (West Region) killed 37 people.
2. Lake Nyos Disaster (August 21, 1986) – A catastrophic limnic eruption killed over 1,700 people in the Northwest Region.
3. Mount Cameroon Eruptions (1982, 1999, 2000, 2012) – Several eruptions, with some local impact but no major casualties.
4. Nsam Train Explosion (February 14, 1998) – A fuel tanker explosion in Nsam (Yaoundé) killed over 200 people.
5. Boko Haram Attacks (2014–Present) – Terrorist attacks in the Far North Region, causing thousands of deaths and mass displacement.
6. Landslides & Floods (2019–2022) – Multiple landslides and floods across the country, leading to several deaths and displacements.
Unnatural (Human-Made) Disasters:
1. Mbanga Pongo Plane Crash (May 5, 2007) – A Kenya Airways flight crashed near Douala, killing 114 people.
2. Eseka Train Derailment (October 21, 2016) – A train accident in Eseka killed 79 people and injured over 500.
3. Anglophone Crisis (2016–Present) – Armed conflict between separatists and government forces, resulting in thousands of deaths and a humanitarian crisis.
4. Boko Haram Insurgency (2014–Present) – Ongoing terrorist attacks, massacres, kidnappings, and large-scale displacement.
5. Assassination of Martinez Zogo (2022) – Your administration used this tragedy to settle personal scores and implicate political rivals.
Your Excellency Sir,
The case of Martinez Zogo has showed clearly to the world that you are no longer in charge of Cameroon but that you are mentained by some few soul-less government criminals who want to remain relevant using you to legitimize their thievery.
You have failed to provide adequate solutions or support to the victims of these disasters. Instead, you have weaponized such tragedies for political gain, enriching yourself and your allies at the expense of the people.
Your Excellency Sir,
Under your leadership, corruption in Cameroon has reached new heights. Your administration has embezzled so much that it could pay off Cameroon’s debt, build Dubai 18 times over in Cameroon, and provide jobs and free salary for all Cameroonians. Yet, instead, the people continue to suffer. SINCE INDEPENDENCE, CAMEROON IS THE ONLY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD WHOSE 60% OF HER REVENUE HAS REMAINED IN THE POCKETS OF FEW PRIVILEGED INDIVIDUALS WHILE THE MASSES ARE DYING IN AGONY.
Your administration is so corrupt that your allies steal things they don't even need. You have spent the past 43 years of your life making wrong choices and appointing heartlesd thieves as your collaborators and its for this reason that they don't want the end of your regime because that will put an end to their thievery and eventually many of them would run to exile or face the arm of true justice from any democratically elected president.
Your Excellency, all members of your government are from the CPDM ruling party and 99.99% of the “opposition” parties are positioned by you, you have accumulated enough money to buy off any decisive opposition that dare not support you. This has to stop. You became a member of the Cameroonian government in 1962 at the age of 29. Yet, since you became president, no member of your government, not even a director, mayor, divisional officer, or inspector, is under 30 years. Does this mean you don't believe in the youth? Why are the youth suffering while a few ethnic-privileged individuals enjoy their positions for a life time? Why must a digital generation be led by an analog generation? Why are all members of your government, who are supposed to be your constitutional successors, above the age of 85? Can an 80-year-old man operate AI or a laptop? What does a 70 or 80-year-old man understand about the realities of this generation?
Your Excellency,
You were appointed as Chargé de Mission at the Presidency by President Ahmadou Ahidjo at the age of 29, and later became Prime Minister at 42. On November 6, 1982, at the age of 49, you became President of Cameroon. Yet, you have never given similar privileges to the youth of Cameroon. Since your rise to power, you have not allowed similar opportunities for the youth of Cameroon. Every position of power, from governors to divisional officers, is occupied by those over 60, while the young, capable generation is left to struggle. Why have you excluded the youth from positions of leadership and decision-making? Why are the young people of Cameroon left to bear the brunt of this regime, while a few privileged individuals enjoy power and wealth? Why is it that an analog generation who cannot operate a computer nor understand anything about AI is leading a digital generation or is Cameroon going backward under your leadership or forward?
Mr. President, don’t you think it is time for you to step down and allow a new generation to lead this country? Your refusal to allow free and fair elections, and your continued grip on power, have led to widespread disillusionment and suffering. Your administration has failed, and the time for change has come.
Cameroonians no longer trust the electoral system under your watch. IN FACT, EVEN YOUR MINISTERS DON'T TRUST YOU, THEY ARE JUST USING YOU TO STEAL MONEY FOR THEMSELVES. The people believe that you will not allow a fair election, and that you are unwilling to leave power unless forced to. It is time for you to relinquish control and allow a peaceful transition to a government that truly represents the people.
Mr. Albert Nzokang has alleged that you stole the victories of Ni John Fru Ndi in 1992 and 1997, and Amidou Marafa Yahyah claims you have never won any election in Cameroon. Cameroonians believe there will never be a free and fair election under your watch, which means you are unwilling to give up power until your ancestors call you home. This suggests that you passionately hate Cameroon and Cameroonians because you have transformed a our democracy into a monarchy that is managed by few Oligarchs who are your friends and family member. WHEN WILL THE SON OF A NOBODY BECOME SOMEBODY IN CAMEROON? Under your Leadership, only the children of the rich, girlfriends of the rich, wives of the rich or friends and family members of the rich have the privilege to be admitted in prestigious schools like ENAM, EMIA ect. Those of us who don't have any political God fathers would have to pay huge bribe before we can gain admission.
Your actions and the system of government you have created have created and fueled rebellion within the country. You are leading Cameroonians to believe that, without resistance, you will die on the throne. If this is not true, prove me wrong.
All government officials, traditional rulers, and political leaders supporting your candidacy are mocking you. They hate you, and they are enemies of Cameroon. I urge you to resign honorably and return to the village. We will respect, honor, and protect you as our patriarch. I gave you this advice in 2011, and I am doing so again today. YOU CAN USE THIS REMAINING FEW MONTHS OF YOUR VERY LAST MANDATE TO CORRECT ALL THE WRONGS OF YOUR 43 YEARS IF RULERSHIP.
Your Excellency Sir,
We, the Cameroon Liberation Movement, are ready to lead Cameroon towards a brighter future. We will bring the change that the people of Cameroon have longed for. We urge you to step aside, put your house in order, and leave the presidency to the next generation. LET THIS NOT SURPRISE YOU SIR, 6TH OF NOVEMBER 2025 IS THE LAST DAY GIVING TO YOU BY THE LAW TO STAY IN THE UNITY PALACE. YOU WILL BE DEFEATED IN ANY ELECTION AS USUAL SHOULD YOU GO IN FOR THIS ELECTION AND THIS TIME AROUND, YOU WILL NOT BE DECLARED THE WINNER AND BESIDES, CAMEROONIANS ARE MORE THAN READY TO RETIRE YOU THIS YEAR BY ALL MEANS. We are committed to bringing peace, unity, and prosperity to Cameroon. Together, we will restore the dignity of our nation and create a future where every Cameroonian can thrive.
Your Excellency Sir, as a Pan-Africanist and a Pan-Cameroonian who believes in African values and Culture, I love you as a human, respect you as a father and Patriarch and will protect you at anytime after your reign and though you are a respected father, you are a bad president sir.
Your Excellency, We love you and it's from the heart of love that we are sending this message as we also wish you and your beautiful wife a happy Valentine's Day 2025.
*May God bless you, and may God bless Cameroon.*
