TIDE'S OF LÛST EPISODE 77 After work that day which happened to be Friday, as I strolled home with Vida, Evelyn suddenly called to tell me that she was coming over for the weekend and that I shouldn’t try to stop her. Although before the close of work that day, Vida had told me that she was going to see one of her friends in Kumasi and wouldn’t be back till Sunday. On Saturday at around 12pm, I was chilling in my sitting room, and watching a movie from my TV when my phone started ringing. I gazed at my phone, and saw Evelyn boldly written on the photo screen. I then remembered she had requested the previous day that she would spend the weekend with me, and I didn't hesitate to pick her call. “I am in front your school”........Evelyn announced, as I picked her call. “Okay, just start walking down, I will meet you along the road”.......I replied. “Walk down like? Is your house still far?”.........she retorted. “No it isn't, just a stone throw from the school”.........I muttered. “Okay, please just make it out fast because I am with someone”..........She said impatiently. “Who is that? You didn’t tell me you will be coming around with anybody”.........I mumbled. “Just come out”..........She snapped, and hung up. I was already out from my apartment, and I started walking towards my school. As I got closer to the school, I noticed a chocolate brown Voltron slowing down before me. The car stopped directly opposite me and the tinted windows glass went down, behold Evelyn was sitting behind the steering wheel with a guy sitting beside her in front. “Hello! Please we are lost. We are looking for one guy called Pascal, do you by any chance know where we can locate him?”........she asked playfully, with a sly smile on her face. “Drive forward, when you get to that junction, turn around and drive back to this exact spot and you will see him waiting for you”.........I said sarcastically, and she laughed. I stretched out my hand and greeted the guy sitting beside her. We exchanged pleasantries while Evelyn looked on smiling sheepishly. “This is Pascal my little son and Pascal, meet Stephen my Darling boyfriend”.........she introduced us. The guy grinned like a kid when she called him a darling boyfriend, I guess he wasn't expecting it. I told Stephen that I heard how he is taking care of Evelyn in Eket and I also appreciated him. I observed that he was more on the reserved side, he spoke less, and was all smiles. He waved off my thanks with a hand, telling me that he is just doing what he has got to do and will do more if Evelyn permitted him. He even went as far as telling me how much he loves Evelyn, and would do anything in the world, just to make her happy and comfortable. I was really jealous of Stephen, but I kept my cool. Evelyn asked me to hop into the car, and we all drove back to my house so that I could change as Stephen had insisted on taking us out before leaving. When we arrived my residence, I came out of the car to go into my apartment, but Evelyn also came out of the car, claiming she wants to use the toilet in my apartment. Well I didn't object, and together we both went into my apartment, leaving Stephen alone in the car. “You didn’t tell me you would be coming with someone?”..........I furiously asked Evelyn as we got into my room. “Are you jealous?”.........she replied nonchalantly looking around my room. “By the way your room is cool”..........She complimented. “Thanks, but why should I jealous?”.........I retorted. “Well, he insisted on dropping me off to make sure that I’m in safe hands. He is just being so caring unlike some guys that I know”.........She sneered. “That is the bathroom”..........I muttered, directing her to the bathroom ignoring her last comment. She scoffed and headed to the bathroom. By the time she came out, I was already dressed and ready to leave. “Are you ready?”.........she asked, zipping up her jean. “Yes”........I replied. “By the way, I haven't accepted his proposal to be his girlfriend yet, but he is just very good and caring”.........She explained. “Okay, but why not accept to date him already, he is a cool guy though”.........I said solemnly walking out from the room. I held the door for her to come out but she stood back in the room staring at me. “What? Aren't you going to come out already?”.........I asked, as she made no move to step out. “Are you pissed with me?”...,......she asked. “Am I supposed to be? Just come out already let me lock the door”...........I muttered, trying to sound polite. Of a truth I was angry and jealous at the same time, but didn't want to reveal my expression to Evelyn. She might stop hanging out with Stephen if she discovered I still have a soft spot for her. “Pascal look at how rude you are talking to me..........If you are not cool with him, I can tell him off”...........She blurted out. I was about saying something to her when my phone started ringing. Slipping the phone out from my pocket, I discovered it was Sandra that was calling me. I signaled Evelyn to lock the door while I answered the call walking out of the gate. I waited outside the gate for her to come out, while still talking with Sandra. When Evelyn came out, I collected the key from her while she walked ahead to the car. After the call with Sandra, I locked the gate and went to meet them. To be continued.............
