Zimbabwe eyes UAE export boost after successful World Governments Summit Zimbabwe seeks to unlock further export potential to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after successful engagements at the just-concluded World Governments Summit in Dubai. Zimbabwe’s participation at the summit was marked by strong presence in key sessions, alongside a series of bilateral meetings and knowledge-driven discussions aimed at promoting the role of research in governance. The Minister of Lands Agriculture, Water, Fisheries, and Rural Development, Dr Anxious Masuka held high-level meetings with distinguished officials and experts from Dubai for collaboration. “We had a meeting with the Minister of Environment and Agriculture from Dubai where we discussed prospective agriculture partnerships in drip irrigation and horticulture exports to the UAE. We discussed contract financing with Al Dhara Group for some 25 farms for irrigation for cereal production for local and international supply,” said Dr Masuka. Minister Masuka rounded up his government engagements with a tour of one of the leading coffee distributors in Dubai. “DMCC Coffee and Tea is one of the leading value addition centres in Dubai where they take coffee and teas from around the world and process them, brand and market them to the global market. Zimbabwe is privy to some of the tea and coffee growers and we look forward to them tapping into that market. “The World Governments Summit serves as a unique platform for fostering dialogue between think tanks and global policymakers and today, we had an opportunity to meet some prospective business partners whom we had several discussions with on agricultural development and possible partnerships. “Our participation in the summit reflects Zimbabwe’s commitment to promoting strategic thinking and supporting research pathways that contribute to policy development and innovative approaches to addressing future challenges,” he said. The World Governments Summit 2025 brought together thought leaders, global experts, and policymakers from around the world to enhance international cooperation, develop future governance models, and find effective solutions to global challenges. https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaasbIG2UPBDgfC2Ge3b
