This is because human nature is often resistant rather than pliable to God's touch. We often bend like the flow of a river when we should be straight as an arrow. We often forget that temptation and tempters don't go on break. If you break your consecration, you can be vulnerable to the enemy. You need to be reminded that sin can discredit its victims, disable its captives, defile its prisoners, devalue its debtors, deny its slaves, disgrace its followers, and defeat its offenders. We must trust God to live above sin, transgression, and iniquity. This, in turn, will enable us to overcome sin and its human agents who don't relent in the threefold ministry of the devil. With the grace available in Christ, those who are serious with their commitment to God will surely take discipline beyond the level of superficiality. Without discipline, Christian faith is empty.
