God is not committed to anyone who is not committed to His Word. Only a seed that is planted and germinated can bear living fruit and multiply. God's rules are clear in every sphere of life. You could either swim or sink in the waters of time. Nobody can claim to have suffered a stampede on the sea. Doing the Word of God is the only valid way to be on top of the storm while others are losing their heads! Don't throw away the keywords of discipline so you will not be locked inside the pit of shame and lawlessness. When your locks of discipline are shaved, you will still have the muscles but you would have lost the strength and the grace of God to win the fight against the forces of sin and hell.
