SHORT AND SHARP WITH DR SOLA ALIMI February 16, 2025 9:32pm. OLD SCHOOL AND NEW SCHOOL: WHERE IS THE PERILOUS POINT OF DISCONNECT? A school is a platform for knowledge transmission and impartation. The old school concept is predicated on the philosophy and practice of core values of discipline, integrity, diligence, and dignity. The older generation was thorough, diligent, honest, radical, exemplary, and fortright. They never saw crime as a pathway to easy wealth. That a person had material riches in their time never positioned the person as prosperous. A new school concept is defined as a mindset of defiant and rudderless men and women who are not guided by decorum and dignity but are chained by demonic and dangerous behaviour patterns. That's why nudity today is elevated above decency. It is sad to see a dangerous twist of some so-called old schools that have compromised quite badly, giving endorsement to lawlessness in the present society. So-called ministers today prefer to indulge sinful activities in their sanctuaries in order to keep their dissident crowd rather than correct unrighteous patterns in church and society and raise kingdom-bound saints. Solomon's temple was an amazingly sparkling edifice at the moment of its dedication. It was covered by glittering fireworks. The new school saw the ambience and threw a big party. They danced and rejoiced on the day. Unfortunately, however, the adults that were present were weeping and mourning. That was the point of disconnect! The new school saw only the glitters but the old school couldn't see the glory in the re-branded image of the temple. I recall a message that I preached about bringing back kingdom virtues to salvage the church from modern scavengers and pulpit salesmen. Some ministers on the day were ready for a fight. They saw the endangered generation as a prey they could manipulate and devour. If we don't get up and build this bridge, Nehemiah will condemn the old schools of this generation because, in years to come, the ruins of the moment will produce a bigger and monumental disconnection than we can see, feel and touch today!
