A 17-year-old suspect who escaped a gunfight with police in Ntuzuma this week - which left five gang members dead - has been caught.
The teenager, found with four gunshot wounds, was hiding out at a flat in Sydenham Heights.
Durban Metro Police’s Drug Team and Trio Crimes Unit, along with KZN Counter Narcotics CI, followed up on information which led to the arrest.
After the shootout on Sunday night, the suspect had managed to get treatment at Addington Hospital - but discharged himself when he realised the police were on his trail.
He has been positively identified and is currently in custody.
