*Stolen vehicle recovery: Vehicle owners please take note regarding SAPS clearance documentation* On Tuesday, our teams picked up on a vehicle that had been reported as stolen from a stationery shop in Beyers Naudé Drive on Friday. The vehicle had been involved in a hijacking incident and a case opened in Midrand. The vehicle had subsequently been recovered by the vehicle tracking company, but was still on the SAPS Motor Circulation Detail database. This meant that it was flagged by our CCTV team and our Specialised Crime Unit tracked and intercepted the vehicle. The vehicle and driver were then escorted to Linden SAPS. The SAPS Investigating Officer in Midrand was contacted and our team facilitated that the vehicle was taken back to Aeroton so that all the necessary clearance documentation could be obtained. “In cases where a stolen vehicle is recovered, the vehicle’s owners must please check with the Investigating Officers from SAPS that the vehicle is cleared on the SAPS system and that all the required documentation is issued and correct,” says Beagle Watch Crime Specialist, Leon van Zyl. “We see similar cases almost daily.” #thebeaglewatchdifference`
