Loadshedding Downgraded to Stage 4 – Residents Urged to Use Electricity and Water Wisely 24 February 2025 Residents are informed that loadshedding has been reduced to Stage 4 from Monday, 24 February 2025, at 00:30 until further notice. This follows the successful recovery of several generation units at Majuba, Camden, and Medupi power stations, with emergency reserves also being replenished. While this reduction is a welcome relief, we urge all residents to continue using electricity sparingly, especially during non-loadshedding periods, to prevent further strain on the national grid. Simple actions such as switching off non-essential appliances, using energy-efficient lighting, and limiting high-power consumption activities during peak hours can make a significant difference. Additionally, we remind residents that our water supply systems are often affected by loadshedding, as pumps and reservoirs rely on electricity. Please continue to use water responsibly to ensure sustained supply for all. Small efforts such as fixing leaks, using water-efficient appliances, and reducing unnecessary water use contribute to long-term sustainability. Eskom will provide an update on Monday afternoon, and we will keep the public informed of any further changes. We appreciate your cooperation in using both electricity and water responsibly.
