PLANNED MAINTENANCE - GENADENDAL Residents and stakeholders are hereby informed of planned maintenance that will be taking place in Genadendal on Wednesday 26 February 2025. Our water network team will be installing 4 fire hydrants in George Grey street and Marsveld street. The affected areas include Berg Street, Sewefontein and Middelblok. Residents in and around the above mentioned streets may experience low to now water pressure while work is being completed. After supply to the affected areas will be disrupted from Wednesday morning and restored to full capacity by Wednesday afternoon. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, but thank you for your cooperation during this important maintenance work. Ons vra om verskoning vir enige ongerief wat veroorsaak word, maar bedank u vir u samewerking tydens hierdie belangrike instandhoudingswerk.

Loadshedding Downgraded to Stage 4 – Residents Urged to Use Electricity and Water Wisely 24 February 2025 Residents are informed that loadshedding has been reduced to Stage 4 from Monday, 24 February 2025, at 00:30 until further notice. This follows the successful recovery of several generation units at Majuba, Camden, and Medupi power stations, with emergency reserves also being replenished. While this reduction is a welcome relief, we urge all residents to continue using electricity sparingly, especially during non-loadshedding periods, to prevent further strain on the national grid. Simple actions such as switching off non-essential appliances, using energy-efficient lighting, and limiting high-power consumption activities during peak hours can make a significant difference. Additionally, we remind residents that our water supply systems are often affected by loadshedding, as pumps and reservoirs rely on electricity. Please continue to use water responsibly to ensure sustained supply for all. Small efforts such as fixing leaks, using water-efficient appliances, and reducing unnecessary water use contribute to long-term sustainability. Eskom will provide an update on Monday afternoon, and we will keep the public informed of any further changes. We appreciate your cooperation in using both electricity and water responsibly. WATER INTERRUPTION - VILLIERSDORP A pipe has burst on the corner of Victoria and Union street. Our water network team has closed the valves and is busy with repairs. Repairs will take roughly 3 hours. The affected areas include the section between Van Riebeeck and Union Avenue. We apologise for the inconvenience.
📢 NOTICE: LOADSHEDDING SUSPENDED Eskom suspended loadshedding from 5:00 today, Wednesday, 26 February 2025, until further notice. This follows the successful recovery of generation capacity and significant progress in replenishing emergency reserves. While overnight replenishment is still required, the power system remains stable. Eskom continues with planned maintenance of 6,660MW as part of its summer maintenance strategy, ensuring improved reliability ahead of winter. We appreciate your patience and thank you for your cooperation over the past few days to avoid water disruptions.

Eskom is investigating the problem and as soon as more information is available it will be communicated. There is currently no estimated time for restoration.
