A certain Wise man once wrote (on X) “A little silly mistake can ruin your life and turn your so perfect story into a very shitty one.” This he tweeted backing it with the scripture in 1Cor. 10:12 which reads:*“Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.”* The Dose for this beautiful Saturday morning, being the first day of the month, seeks to elucidate this same idea by using the perfect allegory of the work of an apothecary. The beautiful work of a perfumer is to concoct sweet smelling ointment for various use. Still, one thing is true about them all, it is meant to create a pleasant and desirable scent. However, even when the perfume has been perfectly mixed and ready for use, a little contamination like a little dead fly in a jar of such ointment can turn the whole barrel into an unpleasant and offensive fume. In like manner, a single act of foolishness or little misdeeds can make a very upright man be seen as a monster and every of his good deeds in the past forgotten in such a hurry. The most unfair part is that many will see his genuineness in the past as mere acts of pretense. Therefore it is expedient that every man continues to grow in wisdom and is careful lest one act of foolishness renders his every act of prudence invalid.
