Here are the words of the Master Himself charging you to be shrewd in your dealings even while you remain innocent. One thing we know about serpents as we read Gen. 3. is that from the beginning she was the shrewdest of all wild animals; very subtle and cunning in all her ways. Many upright folks seem to have understood the importance of being innocent as a dove, but one thing seems to be lacking; it can scarcely be said of them that they are shrewd as serpent. In fact for many of such, they so flee from avenues that can teach them tactfulness and subtlety and perceive them as aiming to corrupt their good conscience. Little wonder the Lord says “the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.” On the other hand we see many who have only understood the part of being shrewd as serpents and they are so immersed in it and never consider the aspect of innocence and being harmless as a dove. This is where the lesson we learnt from (DDW/05/02/’25.) will come handy, to always add to such as you have. Being innocent without shrewdness can leave you vulnerable and open to harm, and being shrewd without being harmless will make you evil. Therefore, it is expedient to understand and balance them both. I’ll counsel that you first have an innocent heart and then equip yourself with as much knowledge as possible as it relates to shrewdness. Learn the ways of crafty men while remaining innocent, it’ll help you outsmart them rather than falling for their trickery. Take example from Jesus’ interactions with the serpent when He was tempted of him. Also study closely how He gave answers to all the temptations in the form of questions from the pharasees and sarducies. #ddw #dailydoseofwisdom #wisdom Follow DDW initiative on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/officiall_ddw?igsh=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA== And of course Twitter: https://twitter.com/ddwofficia?s=21 Also follow our WhatsApp channel here: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaFEoVC6xCSWdYEsqQ1i
