When we were yet very young, before teenage, we would sometimes hear among some grownups, sayings like ‘if you dey laugh me, you dey laugh my God’…’ I promise, it never really made any much sense until the knowledge of this Bible verse came. It states that those who mock the poor insults their own Maker. Could it be because “The Lord makes some poor and others rich; he brings some down and lifts others up.” (1Sam. 2:7)? most definitely yes! Since it is Him that makes one rich and another poor (for reasons best known to him) it is therefore, an act of censure and disrespect to his divine wisdom when you take advantage of your privilege and make it an avenue to mock the less privileged. Here’s a quick illustration of a true story between two countries in Africa. For some reasons we’ll withhold the actual names and use D & W to represent them. D were neighbors and still are to W. Irritated by her gross economic bankruptcy, many of D’s citizens were deported from W. Today, it seems like D will do the same to W’s citizens because of some economic twist of fate. How we treat people on their bad days and hard times is of great concern to God. Ironically, humans are experts at exploiting the calamities of their fellows. Employees loot a blind boss, uncles take advantage of an orphaned niece and a poor man's wisdom is despised. However, God is not mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will abundantly reap. #ddw #dailydoseofwisdom #wisdom Follow DDW initiative on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/officiall_ddw?igsh=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA== And of course Twitter: https://twitter.com/ddwofficia?s=21 Also follow our WhatsApp channel here: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaFEoVC6xCSWdYEsqQ1i
