*REFLECTION: 8TH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME* _Gospel: *Luke 6: 39 - 45.*_ In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus gives us a powerful lesson on self-awareness, humility, and authentic discipleship. He asks, “Can a blind person guide a blind person? Will not both fall into a pit?” (Luke 6:39). He also warns against hypocrisy: “Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own?” (Luke 6:41). Finally, He reminds us that “every tree is known by its own fruit” (Luke 6:44), teaching that our actions reflect the state of our hearts. 💡 Are we spiritually blind? It’s easy to point out the faults of others while ignoring our own. But Jesus reminds us that before we guide others, we must first examine ourselves. We cannot lead others to Christ if we ourselves are not walking in His light. Instead of being quick to judge, we should first ask: “Am I living according to God’s will?” 🔍 Removing the plank in our own eye Jesus calls out hypocrisy. How often do we criticize others but fail to see our own weaknesses? He invites us to humility: instead of focusing on the “speck” in another person’s life, we must first work on our own conversion. This is a perfect challenge as we prepare for Lent—a time to reflect, repent, and realign our hearts with God. 🌱 A heart that bears good fruit Jesus reminds us that our words and actions come from the abundance of our hearts. If we are filled with anger, pride, or resentment, these will show in how we treat others. But if we are filled with love, mercy, and kindness, we will bear good fruit. ❤️ A call to authentic discipleship The Gospel challenges us: ✅ Be humble before judging others. ✅ Seek personal conversion before correcting someone else. ✅ Fill our hearts with goodness so we may bear good fruit. Before we try to change the world, let us allow Christ to change us first. Only then can we truly be His witnesses! 🙏 #sundaygospel #gospelreflection #luke63945 #bethegoodtree #humbleheart #jesusteaches #accce #jacecat
