Today marks International Condom Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of condom use in promoting sexual health. Action for Youth Foundation-Trust encourages young people to prioritize their well-being by using condoms, which are proven to be one of the most effective methods to prevent Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), including HIV, and to avoid unwanted pregnancies. Condoms play a critical role in safeguarding the health of individuals and communities, especially in the fight against the ongoing HIV epidemic. We call upon the Government of Zimbabwe to increase its investment in condom programming, as it significantly contributes to ending the spread of HIV and other STIs. By ensuring access to affordable, high-quality condoms for all, we can protect the future of our youth and move closer to achieving a healthier, STI-free generation.
