A woman whose only name we obtained as Véronique, is reported to have been arrested for allegedly burning the hands of her brother’s two-and-a-half-year-old son named Bryan, with hot water. The horrifying incident is reported to have occurred in the Besseke Palestine neighbourhood in Bonaberi, Douala. The tragedy is said to have left the local community in shock, with many struggling to understand how a family member could inflict such harm on an innocent child as young as Bryan.
