Editorial 2025 presidentials: ELECAM should live by example to avoid violence As preparation for the October presidential election ramps up, many potential candidates are hedging up their bets, banking on the perceived influence of traditional rulers, which is akin to promoting tribalism, religious and civil society leaders, the public and shockingly on Elections Cameroon, ELECAM. With the soaring number of educated Cameroonians, notice should be taken that the time for victory over ignorance, illegality and intimidation is over. Politicians, appointed or elected, and ELECAM should be aware that flawed and rigged elections often provide a capacity to inflict catastrophic harm in African countries. In Cameroon, it is ELECAM which has the responsibility to ensure free, fair, transparent and credible elections that guarantee peace, tranquility, before, during and after any election.
