The D-chart concept was introduced by Sri Sheshadri Iyer, drawing from the Tājika system of astrology, which differs from the Arśa jyotiṣa. Tājika system was initially brought to prominence by Arab scholars, and later, Sri Neelakantha authored a work entitled Tājika Neelakanthi. It focuses on solar returns and annual predictions.
Sri K. N. Rao, known for his critical stance on classical teachings—often stating that "reading classics is akin to extracting gems from dung"—adopted the methodologies of Sri Iyer. Through his publications, he encouraged students to engage in 'research' and to make extensive use of divisional charts. However, his writings lack practical techniques and are often seen as a mere play of words.
Sri Rao's ideas appear to have influenced Pt. Rath, who advanced the concepts by integrating Jaimini astrology. His student, Sri PVR Rao, developed software that provides longitudes in Vargas. When challenged, his explanations tend to be absurd and comical.
Another figure in this discourse is Sri VP Goel, who seems to follow Sri Rao's path. He and his students have ensured that novices in astrology remain perplexed, often arriving at no definitive conclusions. They propagate misguided and absurd ideas with unwarranted confidence. However, adhering to such flawed beliefs will yield no positive outcomes, and the guardians of knowledge, the Vidyadhara, may become furious.
The individuals at BVB appear unaware of the repercussions of formulating erroneous theories based on their insufficient grasp of the subject. Holding titles doesn't mean that one knows everything under the sky about the subject. They should be ashamed to call themselves as 'Acharya' with zero understanding of fundamentals! I would do anything but never argue with the students of Sri Rao and Sri Goel. It's difficult to convince them that whatever they have learnt is nothing but a myth!
Scholars from traditional schools often refrain from verbal discourse; however, they frequently critique the writings of these authors. It is possible to compose a distinct volume that addresses the misleading theories presented in each of these works.
My Guru asserts that परनिंदा पापाय। (criticizing others is sinful). Nevertheless, He also encourages the correction of misconceptions related to the subject matter one studies. I do not aim to tarnish anyone's reputation, but the situation compels me to employ strong language to highlight the flawed theories.
Inspired from the writings of Prof. B. J. Rao.
