                            _*Revised Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) Guidelines*_
*Why in News?*
The central government has revised the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) guidelines to improve procurement of perishable agricultural products.
*About MIS:*
* A government scheme for procurement of perishable commodities like tomato, onion, and potato when MSP does not apply.
* It is activated when the market price drops by 10% compared to the previous normal year.
*Revised Guidelines:*
* MIS now part of PM-AASHA scheme.
* Procurement limit increased from 20% to 25% of crop production.
* Direct payment to farmers for the difference between Market Intervention Price (MIP) and selling price.
