The leadership of Makana Local Municipality honoured an invitation to account to the people of Makana on the local radio station RMR 89.7fm yesterday, 27 February 2025. The organisers of the recent march to the municipal office were also invited to take part in the discussion. Makana Municipality Executive Mayor Cllr Yandiswa Vara and Municipal Manager Mr Pumelelo Kate represented the municipality in the discussion while the protesting group was represented by Mr Mxolisi Ntshiba of the Concerned Makana Residents (CMR). The leadership of the municipality gave a clear account of the steps that are being taken to improve the state of the city during the two-hour special broadcast. The leadership took the opportunity to thoroughly address some of the issues that were raised during the march. The interview was also streamed live on the Makana Local Municipality Facebook Page.
