Highly Cherished, life has a certain irony about it. We love our parents and hold them dearly. Yet, if we had the chance, we would not have chosen them. Parents love their children deeply even if they are ugly and sick. However, if they had the chance, they would have chosen other beautiful and healthy ones. At its core, life is not about our preferences. It is a calling. It is not about what you want to do but what you are asked to do. You don’t love your spouse because you want to. (It would be nice if you want to though.) You love your spouse because you are asked to. The moment you see life as a responsibility and not a preference, you release yourself to make the most of it.
