Expect a genre-hopping journey through the dance and disco continuum: from the raw pulse of disco and the acid-house laced grooves, to the industrial edge of new beat, the foundations of early techno, and into the bass-heavy, club-driven sounds of the present. Zoukak’s venue, specially crafted for this night, will be set in a maze-like space. Get loose, warm up, and step into the night, ready to move. *This event builds on the energy of last year’s dance workshop with Junaid Sarieddeen. *junior is a Beirut based synthesist and dj. With a keen ear for the uncanny, june’s diggings have led to key mixes and recordings, breaking patterned motion and eliciting a heightened sense of frequency. His interest in sound synthesis and academic background have also led to endeavors in composing for film and theater as well as working on electro-acoustic installations. He co-founded Frequent Defect in 2016 and works also under his aliases “june as” and “junior program”. He regularly collaborates with Jad Atoui, Try Harder and NÂR, as well as having performed live with the likes of the legendary Yo-yo Ma and renowned artists like Sharif Sehnaoui, Jawad Nawfal (Munma) and Ziad Moukarzel among others.
