_🌾 On the authority of Abu Malik al-Harith bin Asim al-Asharee (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, *“… And the Salah (prayer) is a light, ….”*_ [Muslim: 223]
*“Prayer is light.”* It has been said that this means one of its rewards is that Allah, the Almighty, grants light to the one who prays on the Day of Judgment.
It also brings radiance to a person’s face in this world, unlike those who do not pray.
It has also been said that prayer prevents wrongdoing and forbids indecency and evil, guiding a person toward righteousness—just as light is used for illumination.
Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala says in Quran:
_“Recite, [O Muḥammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allāh is greater. And Allāh knows that which you do.”_ (Al-Ankabout 29:45)
Others have said that all of these meanings apply: prayer is a light for the servant in their heart, on their face, in their grave, and on the Day of Resurrection.

_My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication._ (Ibrahim 14:40)
