Which way should the Indian left go today? Prof. Prabhat Patnaik, one of the pre-eminent theorists of the Indian parliamentary left, has come up with one in 2016. He had claimed that the 'Leninist Conjuncture', premised upon the imminence of a world revolution, was superseded immediately after the second world war. Following this line of argument, he proposed his "right way". What does Prof. Patnaik's "right way" entail? How do we evaluate his prescriptions in light of Marxism?
