*Wheat Market Highlight*
•Over the past week, wheat prices experienced a decline as the government's Open Market Sale Scheme (OMSS) led to an increase in supply. In the key Indore market, average weekly prices fell by 11.42%, settling at ₹2,700 per quintal due to the availability of wheat through OMSS. AgriWatch expects prices to remain stable with a slight downward trend, primarily driven by the ongoing rise in wheat supply under the OMSS initiative.
•As per the latest update by IMD, India is expected to witness above-average temperatures in February. Key wheat—and rapeseed-producing states potentially experience maximum temperatures up to 5°C higher than normal on certain days, posing a threat to crop health. Both maximum and minimum temperatures in northern, central, and eastern states are forecasted to remain above normal throughout the month, which could adversely impact crop yields.
