*END OF SCHOOL TERM : SUMMARY OF THE STUDENT's MEETING WITH THE SCHOOL's PTA. DURING ONE OF SUCH GATHERING IN ABUJA.* The Children Were Asked Three Questions. 1. What are your parents doing that you do not like but afraid to tell them? 2. What would you like them to start doing? 3. What are your little secrets _(what your parents do not know you are involved in, and if they were to know, they will be shocked to their bones)_? The responses of the children were read to those present, and there were shocking revelations for every one present! *SOME RESPONSES OF THE CHILDREN ON QUESTION No.1:* _What are your parents doing that you do not like but afraid to tell them?_ A. Parents fight and quarrel and insult each other in front of their children. B. Some children see their parents engaged in sexual acts, and that made them always think about it. C. Parents should stop drinking and smoking. D. Parents nag a lot. E. Parents rain curses on them when the children make them angry. F. Parents cheating _(Mum on dad and dad on mum)_ and these children are aware. G. Parents don’t have time for them. H. Parents do not know anything about their children. I. Their parents should stop comparing them with other children to ridicule them. J. Parents watch pornography and some of these children sit with them, watching too. *SOME RESPONSES TO QUESTION No.2:* _What would you like them to start doing?_ A. Create opportunities for children to express themselves freely. B. Have family dinner and a time for family chats. C. Mum and Dad to love themselves _(A lot of them said this)_. D. Call them good names like, _(You shall be Great, You shall be Successful)_ not raining curses on their children. E. Build confidence in them. F. Mum should advise us in a good way not to tell us to do wrong. *SOME RESPONSES TO QUESTION No.3:* _What are your little secrets _(What your parents do not know you are involved in, and if they were to know, they will be shocked to their bones)_? A. Engaging in sexual acts with relatives _(cousins, brothers, sisters, aunts, classmates, and neighbours)_. B. Most are already in relationships. C. Some teenagers are already dating married men. D. Masturbation and watching Pornography are rampant. E. Abuse by school Teachers. F. Suicidal thoughts. G. Taking money from parents' purses and wallets H. Two children said they always have sex and their parents do not know and do not care. I. One is contemplating Abortion. J. Two less than 7 years old girls are already practising lesbianism. K. Friends are teaching them sex acts in school L. Spy on mum when she is taking her bath most times. These are but a few of the responses of our children. We need to do more as parents and, _the convener]_ *admonished parent to be intentional in parenting*. Training a child in the way he/she should go is not just paying school fees and providing needs! Parents should be closer to their children and create an enabling environment for these children to talk freely with them. Our children have been observing us. *_It's sad to note that most of these responses came from ages 6-12 classes and few from the teens class._* Please, parents, let's try to do more. When they want to talk with us, pls lets give them a listening ear. Let's not go after money and fame and lose our children (GOD FORBID). *This message should be forwarded by the mums in this group to their dads; _[and the dads to the mums]_ let us wake up to our responsibilities.* We hope to hold a similar program in the near future as we brace up with the challenge of raising Godly children in this depraved 🌍 world COPIED
