Hamptonites are learning that, under Trump 2.0, every rosé has its thorn.
Rosé is to summer in the Hamptons what hockey is to Canada in the winter—drinking it is practically the town sport. But the threat of higher tariffs has restaurant owners scrambling to stock up on the summer staple in bulk before an even steeper import tax takes hold. “We might not even have [rosé] by July,” one business owner tells VF contributing writer Stephanie Krikorian. “People would be up in arms.”
