*A TREATISE TO THE TECH GUYS.* This reflection was born from a conversation I had with a friend working at an airline start-up in Lagos. It left me thinking long and hard about the current state of our tech ecosystem. Honestly, I don’t even know how to begin this letter — not out of confusion, but out of deep concern. You guys are doing exceptionally well. You're building, coding, scaling, fundraising — and it’s impressive. But somewhere along the line, something critical has gone missing. *You're no longer solving real problems.* The focus now seems to be on chasing valuations, building the next unicorn, and pitching products that look shiny but lack relevance to the realities of the environment you’re building in. Many of you say you're in it for the tech. But if we're honest — painfully honest — it's really about the money now, isn't it? You’ve forgotten that the _true_ unicorns — the companies we admire and quote in pitch decks — became what they are because they addressed deep, painful, everyday problems for millions. That’s why they became profitable. That’s why they scaled. I know it’s a cliché, but it remains true: *the more you chase money, the more it runs from you.* Focus on solving real problems. Solve problems that keep people awake at night. Solve problems that improve the lives of everyday people — not just the startup Twitter crowd. Do that… and the money will chase you. Build with purpose. Build with empathy. Build for people.
