*DIRECTORATE OF RESEARCH MANAGEMENT AND INNOVATION, LASU, COMMENCES SENSITISATION VISITS*
*Preparations underway for the 2025 7th LASU Research and Innovation Fair*
The Directorate of Research Management and Innovation (DRMI), Lagos State University (LASU), has commenced its much-anticipated sensitisation visits in preparation for the upcoming 7th LASU Research and Innovation Fair. These visits will take place across various faculties, schools, the College of Medicine, as well as the Bursary and Registry Departments.
The visits, led by the Director of DRMI, Professor Adejuwon Adeneye, alongside members of the Central Planning Committee, commenced on *Monday, 2nd June 2025*, with engaging discussions at the Faculty of Management Sciences.
The primary objective of these visits is to sensitise and solicit the active participation of the university community about the Research Fair, which is slated for *Wednesday, 8th and Thursday, 9th October 2025*, at the *Aderemi Makanjuola Lecture Hall, Lagos State University, Ojo Campus*. This event promises to be a significant gathering for researchers and innovators alike.
During his address, Professor Adeneye expressed his appreciation to the Faculty of Management Sciences for their past support and urged for even greater participation this year. He provided detailed information on the registration process, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for all participants.
Reflecting on the successes of previous fairs, Professor Adeneye expressed optimism for an even more impactful event this year. He thanked the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, and the university management team for their steadfast support, which has been crucial for the university community's engagement in transformative research initiatives.
He also announced that the fair will feature notable figures, including the Special Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker, Senator (Dr) Oluranti Idiat Adebule, who represents the Lagos West Senatorial District at the National Assembly and is a former Deputy Governor of Lagos State. Additional esteemed speakers will contribute their insights and expertise to the event.
Professor Adeneye emphasised that the LASU Research Fair serves as an interactive platform for pioneering research inquiries across diverse topics, catering to academics, the general public, and addressing relevant societal issues.
The Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, Professor Akanji Bankole, represented by Professor Jacob Fatile from the Department of Public Administration, expressed gratitude to the University Management and the Directorate for their continuous efforts to position LASU at the forefront of research and innovation. He assured unwavering support for the fair’s success.
The sensitisation visit was highly engaging, featuring an interactive question-and-answer session where attendees shared valuable suggestions and sought additional information.
The visits will continue tomorrow, *Tuesday, 3rd June 2025*, with the School of Transport and Logistics and the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies scheduled to participate.
