Rich people pay for their needs in cash, because they value their privacy. And the poor pay in rights. Imagine a person growing out from poverty into working middle class. What does he first do with his money? 1. Buy food and cloth. Rent a house. What does he do when he grows out of middle class to your middle class? 1. Buy quality food and quality clothes and buy own small house. What happens When he gets richer? 1. Buys quality food and quality clothes. 2. Buy a bigger house and buy land. What happens when he gets much more richer? 1. Buys quality food and quality clothes 2. Buy more land. 3. Invest in producing from the land. So, getting rich is too enlarge ones freedom in his life by buying more private space and private resources. This freedom is the end goal and money is the means to achieve it. You buy privacy, then you buy your freedom. So being rich gives more freedom with more things private. And hence freedom is considered to be a luxury. Therefore, in the pursuit of getting rich, you are only seeking more and more privacy, which poor people can't afford. Now that i have established that less privacy means poor and More privacy means richer. Now, a poor person seeks support from the state for his development. What does the state demand in return from him? It's his fundamental rights, either it is his right to dignified life or right to equality right to free thought and expression, right to move freely, etc. When the judiciary decides if the state has not exceeded reasonable restriction upon their fundamental rights, it finds it okay for a person to surrender part of his fundamental right, in exchange for recieving support from state, thus justifying encroachment of state into a person's rights. So, I'm convinced that a poor cannot expect freedom, once he seeks support from state. *PRIVACY IS THE SOURCE OF FREEDOM.* Once he has enough to satisfy his basic needs of food, cloth and shelter, he must give up the support of state, if he truly wishes to gain freedom. After all, freedom is advantage of being born in an independent nation. Starting from the French revolution in1789, individual freedom is the goal, every free nation aspires to support. While supporting for basic needs helps a citizen to stand on his own legs, he must unleash himself from the clutches of the government and run freely towards his goal of gaining freedom through getting rich. The Government loves keeping more people dependent on it, so that it can enjoy supremacy over the life of most of its citizens. So, it is not in its interest to let it citizen reach his goal of freedom. It is left to the option of the citizen to unshackle the chains of the government and attain prosperity in his life. It is a continuous conflict between interest of state and interest of freedom seeking citizens. Now, I leave you with a question yo ponder. *Have you freed yourself?*
