This Travel Tuesday, we’re taking a journey to the turquoise waters of the Rock Islands Southern Lagoon in Palau! 🌊🇵🇼
Home to 445 limestone islands, this seascape features over 385 coral species, 13 types of sharks, and the world’s highest concentration of marine lakes — a true biodiversity hotspot!
Now uninhabited, these islands hold echoes of the past. The ancient stone villages, burial sites, and rock art tell stories of communities that thrived here for thousands of years.
Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2012, it’s a place that must be protected to ensure its beauty and biodiversity endure. Learn more: https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/1386
