Travel Tuesday takes us to the City of Luxembourg and its Old Quarters and Fortifications — where history is carved into every wall! 🇱🇺🪨
Built on high ground between two rivers, Luxembourg was once one of Europe’s most protected cities. You can still see the old city walls, historic buildings, and tunnels dug into the rock that were used for shelter and defense.
Though their purpose has changed, the old walls still shape the spirit of the city. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1994, it’s a rare place where urban life and layered history meet at every turn. Learn more: https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/699
