Revant Himatsingka, aka @foodpharmer, started the #sugarboardmovement 1.5 years ago with the goal to make sugar content transparent in every school, college, and office canteen. Now, the CBSE has made it mandatory for all affiliated schools to put up Sugar Boards that clearly show: • Recommended daily sugar intake • Sugar content in commonly consumed foods and drinks • Health risks linked to excess sugar • Healthier alternatives students can choose In addition, schools are encouraged to conduct seminars and workshops to promote mindful eating and better nutrition habits. To keep things accountable, schools must submit reports with photos of these initiatives by July 15.
