Inquisitive Universe: Hello and good evening to you and yours. I'm back to rant and I don't know why I have taken this one very personal but I'm aggrieved. Very aggrieved. So Oppo have decided to sell a phone with the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 (rebranded Snapdragon 662) for 330,000 NGN ($206). As a result, I have decided to pull an SoC out from my back pocket that will shock you guys. So let's have the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 vs Unisoc T7250. Let's go! The Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 (SD 662) is a budget SoC that was announced in 2024 but in reality is actually closer to 6 years old as the original Snapdragon 662 was released in 2020. It was obviously rebranded at Oppo's request and it has featured exclusively in the A series lineup of phones. The Unisoc T7250 (T615) is also a rebranded budget SoC that was announced recently. It was originally made in 2024 and rebranded in 2025. It has gone on to feature in a number of very popular entry level and budget phones such as the Redmi A5 4G, Itel City 100 and several others. This comparison is important to cure the Snapdragon bias that some ignorant people have. Just because something carries the Qualcomm Snapdragon brand name, doesn't always mean that it's A grade. It also doesn't mean that you should shell out a premium for it. Both processors are budget class. So let's compare and see which one's better. SD6s 4G Gen 1 CPU cores: 2x Cortex A73 (2.1GHz) + 6x Cortex A53 (1.8GHz) GPU: Adreno 610 (950MHz) AnTuTu: 245,706 GeekBench: 339 (single) 1208 (multi) AI: Hexagon 683 ISA: ARMv8 Process: 11nm Samsung RAM: LPDDR4X (1866MHz) Storage: eMMC 5.1, UFS 2.1 Display: FHD ISP: Spectra Camera: 48MP supported Video: 1080p@60fps Modem: 4G LTE (Cat. 13 - 390Mbps) Bluetooth 5.1 WiFi 6 Unisoc T7250 CPU cores: 2x Cortex A75 (1.8GHz) + 6x Cortex A55 (1.6GHz) GPU: Mali G57 MP1 (850MHz) AnTuTu: 263,913 GeekBench: 441 (single) 1454 (multi) AI: No ISA: ARMv8 Process: 12nm TSMC RAM: LPDDR4X (1866MHz) Storage: eMMC 5.1, UFS 2.1 Display: FHD ISP: unnamed Camera: 108MP supported Video: 1080p@60fps Modem: 4G LTE (Cat. 7 - 300Mbps) Bluetooth 5.2 WiFi 5 Performance When it comes to performance, unless the clock speed is significantly greater, the Cortex A75 cores will outperform the A73 cores. The same is also true for the A55 cores which will outperform the A53 cores. When it comes to CPU performance, the T7250 will perform slightly better than the SD6s 4G Gen 1. On the GPU side however, the Adreno 610 slightly outperforms the Mali G57 MP1 because it is slightly faster and enjoys more optimization for apps, games and other mobile software. Both GPUs will run most games out there such as eFootball mobile, Asphalt, Call of Duty Mobile, Free Fire, Dream league etc. at mid to low settings. So for GPU performance, they're on a level playing field but the SD6S 4G Gen 1 will knick it. Memory (RAM and storage) Both SoCs support LPDDR4X RAM at 1866MHz and eMMC 5.1 and UFS 2.1 storage. The T7250 goes on to also support UFS 2.2 as well. This is a tie. Benchmarks When you combine CPU, GPU, RAM and possible storage performance, the Unisoc T7250 is 7% faster than the SD6S 4G Gen 1 on AnTuTu and 20% faster on GeekBench's multi-core test. It's clearly the better performer of the two. Both SoCs are firmly in the budget category and share this space with the likes of: Helio G80 Helio G81 Helio G85 Unisoc T7255 Helio G88 Helio G91 Helio G92 Snapdragon 680 Display: They both support Full High Definition or 1080p displays at 60Hz. Cameras and videos The SD6S 4G Gen 1 maxes out at 48MP support for the main camera. This is because it comes from a time when 48MP cameras was a massive deal! The Unisoc T7250 on the other hand has a max support of 108MP cameras. That being said, no one is going to put 108MP cameras on low end phones. They'll probably just stick a 50MP Samsung JN1 sensor and call it a day. Also Oppo are putting 50MP cameras on an SoC that does not support them. Both SoCs support video recording and playback of 1080p@60fps max. I'm inclined to leave this as a tie too. Connectivity The SD6s 4G Gen 1 supports 4G, Bluetooth 5.1 and WiFi 6. The T7250 supports 4G as well, a better Bluetooth 5.2 but a weaker WiFi 5. Let's give this one to the SD6S 4G Gen 1. Let's do our points tally CPU - T7250 GPU - SD6S 4G Gen 1 RAM - Tie Storage - Tie Performance - T7250 Display - Tie Cameras - T7250 Video - Tie Connectivity - SD6S 4G Gen 1 (only slightly) You can clearly see that both processors are very very close in terms of everything, so they should feature in budget phones that sell around the same price (below 130k). The T7250 has made its way on to the Redmi A5 4G and the Itel City 100 which both sell for 115,000 with 720p display and 5000mAh batteries. These are exactly the same specs that the Oppo A5 Pro has. The only key exception is the 45W fast charge. Oppo are selling you a phone with Redmi A5 performance for 330k and people are endorsing it!!! Where is the common sense? Where is the outrage? Why are the YouTubers who are supposed to be on the side of their viewers silent? Why have they sold their conscience? Why have Nigerians decided to support those guys who don't give 2 shits about them? Why have Nigerians decided to prop up grifters who will gladly sacrifice them on the altar of an unscrupulous brand. Yes, Oppo has no scruples. I said it. Well looking at the choices of the leaders in this country, I shouldn't be surprised at all. Nigerians will ignore those fighting for them so as to prop up the ones that will serve them up to Big Tech. It is what it is. Do with this info what you will. I'm off to edit my video for tomorrow.
