Inquisitive Universe: A guy on Reddit hit me up trying to decide between the Itel P55 and the Itel S25. To be fair, with Itel confused marketing, anyone could get them mixed up too. Whilst he didn't know which device was better, the man had his priorities straight. These are his needs: 1. Bypass charging 2. 360 flashlight (ring light flash) 3. Large storage 4. Gaming 5. Streaming 6. A spare phone for standard apps When I looked at his needs, it was clear that the guy needed a phone with a decent processor, RAM and storage. If you noticed, he said nothing about the camera. So I looked at his options and found them lacking. The Itel P55 (4G) uses the Unisoc T606 (T7200) whilst the Itel S25 uses the Unisoc T620 (now known as the Unisoc T7280). Both processors are okay but would stress him a little bit So I proposed the Itel P55 5G and added it to the two phones he gave me. I knew clearly that it didn't have the ring light flash or bypass charging but anyone who's listened to me for years should know that I preach against putting the cart before the horse That is, I always tell people to never let marketing rubbish sway them. The only reasonable thing he would have to give up was the bypass charging. So I left my recommendation with him anyways. It took him 2 days to do his research and he decided on the one he wanted in line with my recommendation. Problem easily solved. Let's come back to my favourite people in the world 😂😂😂. The ones that share internet space with me. Hi Jeff, I need a good phone. They will proffer no options, none. They will not give you a budget and to make matters worse, they don't even know what they want and what they're willing to trade in exchange for something else. The guy in question was willing to trade bypass charging and circular ring light for better processor and faster storage which will give him better performance with apps and games. Man had his priorities straight. This is something many people do not know and quite frankly do no care. Why? Because we all want to be big babies and have someone hold our hands and make decisions for us. Something I used to do a lot. X: Sir I need a phone. Jeff: Get an iPhone 16 Pro Max X: Ah no, I can't afford that. Give me a realistic option now. Jeff: How do you expect me to offer you a realistic option when you gave me zero information? X: True, you have a point. Jeff: Okay so what's your budget and what are you looking for in a phone? X: oh I like a fast processor, very fast because I want to use my phone to work. I want good cameras oh, very good cameras because I like pictures. I want plenty RAM and storage, I want big battery and fast charging. I have 130k ($82). Jeff: All these for 130k? Ah! Your taste is high and your budget is low. Thankfully the Itel P55 5G falls into your budget. X: God forbid, Itel?! No oh Jeff: What's wrong with Itel? X: I don't know but it's not good. What about Redmi 14C? Jeff: Please buy. X: But I heard it lags a lot. I dunno, Redmi is a good phone right Jeff: Anyone X: Talk naaa, say something. I also saw Poco C61, it's around my budget. My sister said Poco is powerful, but her husband uses Oppo and the cameras are so clear. Jeff: Okay X: So which one do you suggest? Jeff: They are all good, buy the one that fits your budget. Two weeks later X: Hello sir, so I saw the Realme C75, is it a good phone? Can I buy? Jeff: I hope you know it's 239,000 ($150) X: it's a lie! It's over my budget. One week later X: Hello sir, what are your thoughts on the Oppo A5 Pro. My friend said the phone is mad. You know I'm still yet to buy a phone. Jeff: If you have 330k ($200) to give to Oppo, then do X: Jesus! 330k! Ah no oh Till now, they're still yet to buy. How do you help people who do not want to help themselves? I sometimes find myself stressing over this. I once thought that throwing the information up in the air would help a lot of these people but we've been doing this for 5 years and there seems to be no improvement. What do you think is the way forward? I don't know, I'm leaving the question up to you? Please help me. I'll be around to chat and respond.

Inquisitive Universe: Hello and an excellent evening to you. So two weeks ago whilst my brother was playing Resident Evil 5, the PS3 crackled loudly and suddenly emitted loud bangs, flashes of light and thick white smoke. We immediately disconnected only to retry it and got the exact same results so we just put it away. Today we went to Enerhen junction to have it checked and fixed. The repair guy simply said, you need to have the whole power block changed and I'm like why? Won't you open it up and see if there's a transistor, resistor, capacitor or something that can be changed? He simply said no. In the end, after a lot of back and forth bargaining, I parted with 10K and he fished out a power block from somewhere in the store. It was obviously not brand new. In fact, the power block on mine that was bad actually looked better than his. The key thing is that it worked. As soon as he removed the power block, I told my brother to take it and hold on to it. He apparently noticed but said nothing. When we were about to leave, he was like, are you taking that with you? I said yes with my full chest. Ah bros 😅, wetin you wan use am take do. Na dirty na, drop am. But I refused to let him have it. After having extensively let the PS3 run for 30 mins, we left leaving him disappointed. Now why am I telling you this story? This year 2025, I have gotten a few DMs about people who went to change their batteries, especially batteries, that turned out to be worse than the ones that they replaced. This is something that I was very guilty of in the past because I didn't think too much about it. I'm sure that a lot of us probably did the same. When I visit a repair shop and the part I want has been fixed, I usually leave the faulty part with them and call it a day. Phone's fixed, nothing more to worry about. Right? Wrong! Very few technicians are honest enough to discard that faulty part. A good many will actually try to repair that faulty part for resale to another customer. Others won't even bother. They'll probably just sell the faulty part as is to the next hapless customer that comes their way. This is especially true, again, for batteries. Batteries, especially when they are kept in good condition and not swollen could easily be passed off as new or fairly used to unsuspecting customers. This is one of the ways that many repair people cheat their others. I know I will get some clap back for this but it's high time we start calling out this unprofessional behavior. If you are a repair technician and you do not do it, it's fine. I'm not referring to you. I'm talking to the cheats and rogues. The ones who sell fake batteries or dead batteries and shrug their shoulders saying, "that's how it is, you never know which ones are good, it's a matter of luck". The thing is we're all a part of the problem. If we all left these stores with our faulty parts and properly disposed of them, there'll be less of these substandard parts in the market. I personally believe the power brick of this PS3 can be fixed so I'll be holding on to it till I can create the time to find someone competent to fix it. If not, I'll discard myself instead of leaving it to be sold to someone else. In 2022 when I cracked my RN9 Pro after it slipped from my wet hands one wet July evening. I took my screen home with me after replacing it. It's still in a carton on my drawer. All I need to do is replace the broken touch (digitizer) with another. The LCD under is still unharmed. If more and more people left repair stores with their faulty parts which they came to replace, it will quickly stem this practice of fake this or fake that. So the next time you go to a store and you want to leave with the faulty part. Either ask them to buy it from you or ask them to leave you the heck alone. Nothing is free in Freetown. In the case of batteries, please never sell or leave it with them. They could re-sell it back to you tomorrow. The complaints of fake batteries have become too many. It's why I tend to advise people to avoid very old flagships. It's not because I have anything against the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 or the Mi 10. No. I usually worry about the battery. Those phones are well over 4-5 years old. An Urhobo child will say the "battery don mekangban". Hausa will say "ana la laçce". I'm doing my part, please endeavor to do yours as well. Cheers 🥂

Inquisitive Universe: Hello and good evening to you and yours. I'm back to rant and I don't know why I have taken this one very personal but I'm aggrieved. Very aggrieved. So Oppo have decided to sell a phone with the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 (rebranded Snapdragon 662) for 330,000 NGN ($206). As a result, I have decided to pull an SoC out from my back pocket that will shock you guys. So let's have the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 vs Unisoc T7250. Let's go! The Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 (SD 662) is a budget SoC that was announced in 2024 but in reality is actually closer to 6 years old as the original Snapdragon 662 was released in 2020. It was obviously rebranded at Oppo's request and it has featured exclusively in the A series lineup of phones. The Unisoc T7250 (T615) is also a rebranded budget SoC that was announced recently. It was originally made in 2024 and rebranded in 2025. It has gone on to feature in a number of very popular entry level and budget phones such as the Redmi A5 4G, Itel City 100 and several others. This comparison is important to cure the Snapdragon bias that some ignorant people have. Just because something carries the Qualcomm Snapdragon brand name, doesn't always mean that it's A grade. It also doesn't mean that you should shell out a premium for it. Both processors are budget class. So let's compare and see which one's better. SD6s 4G Gen 1 CPU cores: 2x Cortex A73 (2.1GHz) + 6x Cortex A53 (1.8GHz) GPU: Adreno 610 (950MHz) AnTuTu: 245,706 GeekBench: 339 (single) 1208 (multi) AI: Hexagon 683 ISA: ARMv8 Process: 11nm Samsung RAM: LPDDR4X (1866MHz) Storage: eMMC 5.1, UFS 2.1 Display: FHD ISP: Spectra Camera: 48MP supported Video: 1080p@60fps Modem: 4G LTE (Cat. 13 - 390Mbps) Bluetooth 5.1 WiFi 6 Unisoc T7250 CPU cores: 2x Cortex A75 (1.8GHz) + 6x Cortex A55 (1.6GHz) GPU: Mali G57 MP1 (850MHz) AnTuTu: 263,913 GeekBench: 441 (single) 1454 (multi) AI: No ISA: ARMv8 Process: 12nm TSMC RAM: LPDDR4X (1866MHz) Storage: eMMC 5.1, UFS 2.1 Display: FHD ISP: unnamed Camera: 108MP supported Video: 1080p@60fps Modem: 4G LTE (Cat. 7 - 300Mbps) Bluetooth 5.2 WiFi 5 Performance When it comes to performance, unless the clock speed is significantly greater, the Cortex A75 cores will outperform the A73 cores. The same is also true for the A55 cores which will outperform the A53 cores. When it comes to CPU performance, the T7250 will perform slightly better than the SD6s 4G Gen 1. On the GPU side however, the Adreno 610 slightly outperforms the Mali G57 MP1 because it is slightly faster and enjoys more optimization for apps, games and other mobile software. Both GPUs will run most games out there such as eFootball mobile, Asphalt, Call of Duty Mobile, Free Fire, Dream league etc. at mid to low settings. So for GPU performance, they're on a level playing field but the SD6S 4G Gen 1 will knick it. Memory (RAM and storage) Both SoCs support LPDDR4X RAM at 1866MHz and eMMC 5.1 and UFS 2.1 storage. The T7250 goes on to also support UFS 2.2 as well. This is a tie. Benchmarks When you combine CPU, GPU, RAM and possible storage performance, the Unisoc T7250 is 7% faster than the SD6S 4G Gen 1 on AnTuTu and 20% faster on GeekBench's multi-core test. It's clearly the better performer of the two. Both SoCs are firmly in the budget category and share this space with the likes of: Helio G80 Helio G81 Helio G85 Unisoc T7255 Helio G88 Helio G91 Helio G92 Snapdragon 680 Display: They both support Full High Definition or 1080p displays at 60Hz. Cameras and videos The SD6S 4G Gen 1 maxes out at 48MP support for the main camera. This is because it comes from a time when 48MP cameras was a massive deal! The Unisoc T7250 on the other hand has a max support of 108MP cameras. That being said, no one is going to put 108MP cameras on low end phones. They'll probably just stick a 50MP Samsung JN1 sensor and call it a day. Also Oppo are putting 50MP cameras on an SoC that does not support them. Both SoCs support video recording and playback of 1080p@60fps max. I'm inclined to leave this as a tie too. Connectivity The SD6s 4G Gen 1 supports 4G, Bluetooth 5.1 and WiFi 6. The T7250 supports 4G as well, a better Bluetooth 5.2 but a weaker WiFi 5. Let's give this one to the SD6S 4G Gen 1. Let's do our points tally CPU - T7250 GPU - SD6S 4G Gen 1 RAM - Tie Storage - Tie Performance - T7250 Display - Tie Cameras - T7250 Video - Tie Connectivity - SD6S 4G Gen 1 (only slightly) You can clearly see that both processors are very very close in terms of everything, so they should feature in budget phones that sell around the same price (below 130k). The T7250 has made its way on to the Redmi A5 4G and the Itel City 100 which both sell for 115,000 with 720p display and 5000mAh batteries. These are exactly the same specs that the Oppo A5 Pro has. The only key exception is the 45W fast charge. Oppo are selling you a phone with Redmi A5 performance for 330k and people are endorsing it!!! Where is the common sense? Where is the outrage? Why are the YouTubers who are supposed to be on the side of their viewers silent? Why have they sold their conscience? Why have Nigerians decided to support those guys who don't give 2 shits about them? Why have Nigerians decided to prop up grifters who will gladly sacrifice them on the altar of an unscrupulous brand. Yes, Oppo has no scruples. I said it. Well looking at the choices of the leaders in this country, I shouldn't be surprised at all. Nigerians will ignore those fighting for them so as to prop up the ones that will serve them up to Big Tech. It is what it is. Do with this info what you will. I'm off to edit my video for tomorrow. Cheers.
