Women and girls are at near-constant risk of sexual violence in Sudan’s Darfur region: they are attacked in their homes, attacked while fleeing for safety, and attacked while trying to gather food, water, and firewood for their survival.
Our teams in South Darfur, Sudan, treated 659 survivors of sexual violence between January 2024 and March 2025.
🔴 94% were women and girls
🔴 31% were younger than 18
🔴 56% said they were assaulted by a non-civilian
