Annual college fest "Malnad 2K25" was inaugurated on 29th May 2025 by the guests- Dr. C. L. Laxmipathi Gowda, Co-Founder, GRSV Consulting Services & Former Deputy Director General, ICRISAT, Hyderabad; Dr. Shivakumara, Founder & Director, Akka IAS Academy, Bengaluru; M. Chandre Gowda, President, Hassan City Municipal Council; Chandrashekar K. R, Managing Director, Esscee Print Pack Pvt. Ltd. and other dignitaries. Dr. C.L. Laxmipathi Gowda, Co-Founder, GRSV Consulting Services, expressed that instead of holding on to the idea of building a career only in one’s hometown, it is better to embrace the mindset of settling wherever opportunities are available. He said that by visiting places with diverse cultural practices, one can gain a lot in life. More learning happens outside the classroom than inside it. More than 50% of technologies undergo changes between the time a student enters college and graduates. Technologies are evolving at a rapid pace, he noted. He emphasized that communication skills are essential and advised students not to get involved in caste- or religion-based conflicts, as they disturb mental peace. He encouraged students to dream big. Dr. Shivakumar, Director of Akka IAS Academy, stated that it is possible to prepare for UPSC exams alongside engineering studies. Time is a gift of nature, and if used wisely for studies, success in UPSC is achievable, he said. M. Chandregowda, President of the Hassan Municipal Corporation and an alumnus of the college, emphasized that sports and cultural activities are as important as academics. College not only provides a degree but also offers profound life experiences. One must learn to smile and make others smile. There should be bonding, and love for the college, he advised. Chandrashekar K.R., Managing Director, Esscee Print Pack Pvt. Ltd. and an alumnus, shared that the printing and packaging industry today has a turnover of ₹3 lakh crore. There is ample opportunity in this field to start a professional career and later establish one’s own business. Tabs were distributed to nine students who scored the highest marks up to the fifth semester as part of the 'Mytri-83’- an initiative of the 1983 alumni batch. The event was graced by R.T. Dyavegowda, Chairman of the Malnad Technical Education Society; B.R. Gurudev, Vice-Chairman; C.R. Jagadeesh, Secretary; Parswanath, Treasurer; Dr. A.J. Krishnaiah, Principal; Dr. S. Pradeep, Director of MCE; directors of MTES- D.B. Hemanth Kumar, B.V. Srinivas, G.K. Shankar, B.R. Rajashekhar, former principal Dr. K.S. Jayantha, Dean Dr. K.R. Dushyanth Kumar, college staff, and students. The students presented cultural dance performances as part of the event.
