Rwandan Ambassador Urges African Wetland Rehabilitation Ahead of COP15
John Cassim
With only two months remaining until the Ramsar COP 15 on Wetlands in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, the Rwandan Ambassador to Zimbabwe, James Musoni, has urged African countries to prioritise the rehabilitation of their wetlands, particularly in urban areas where settlement-driven encroachment is occurring.
"I appeal to other African countries to rehabilitate, protect, and make these urban wetlands useful through environmentally friendly activities, rather than allowing actions that destroy biodiversity," Ambassador Musoni stated.
The Ambassador made these remarks in an exclusive interview with ConserveZim in Harare, referencing the recently rehabilitated Nyandungu Eco-Park as an example.
