The UNDP allocated US$600,000 to the Chizumba Irrigation Scheme and the rest to the Pikinini Jawanda Irrigation Scheme. Pikinini-Jamwanda irrigation scheme is located in Ward 14  under chief Mawarire, in Mwenezi, Masvingo Province. Since the completion of the Manyuchi Dam in 1988, farmers in this area are finally realizing the full agricultural potential of the region's significant water resources. This marks a turning point, allowing them to benefit from the nearest reservoir.
