*KEEP YOUR HEART FROM GOING BACK TO EGYPT*
_By Pastor Wilberforce Bezudde_
*⁴And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? ⁵We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: ⁶but now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.* - _Numbers 11:4-6 (KJV)_
Forgetting what God has done and where He had brought us from can have serious spiritual and practical consequences, ones we should never want to experience as children of God.
We must always endeavour to keep the memory of God's goodness alive and be conscious of every single thing He is doing in our current situations. Forgetting God's past works and failing to recognize His hand in our present circumstances lead to pride and self-sufficient,which ulultimately in numerous spiritual dangers and downfalls.
History and experience have shown that many who have taken God's past mercies for granted have become vulnerable to sin and compromise in life. Regular reflection on God's past works and maintaining a testimony of His Grace keep us spiritually anchored, humble and strong in the power of His might.
Hallelujah!
The children of Isreal forgot God's promises and his past works, and a a result they fell into deception. There has never been such a thing as slaves eating free food. They were slaves in Egypt, they never received any thing for free. They worked hard and received no reward for their hard work. That is the deception that enters people's hearts when they forget where they have come from. This happened because they allowed their hearts to turn back to Egypt.
The Bible says in *Act 7:39 (KJV),"......In their hearts they turned back to Egypt."*
_Child of God; Let our hearts remain in tune with what God has done and what He is doing. Let in not allow our hearts to turn back to Egypt. God has a great plan for our lives. We have a great future. "......he who has began a good work in you will carry it on to completion" Philippians 1:6 (NIV). Let's keep a good memory and be grateful._
Hallelujah
JESUS IS LORD!
*Today's Prayer:*
Dear Holy Spirit,
Thank you for your presence in my life,
Thank you for reminding me of all things, the Father has done, and He is doing now.
Help me never forget where He brought me from.
Keep my heart tuned to the Father's goodness.
May I stay grateful, humble and anchored in Him.
In Jesus' Name,
Amen!
