*Indonesia Urged to Delay Palm Oil Export Levy Hike Amid Global Trade Risks*
•Indonesia’s palm oil industry body, GAPKI, has asked the government to postpone the planned hike in export levies (from 3–7.5% to 4.75–10% from May 17), warning it could hurt export competitiveness amid U.S. tariff threats and rising geopolitical tensions. The move aims to fund biodiesel and replanting efforts but may weaken Indonesia’s position against Malaysia, especially in the U.S. market. GAPKI also flagged concerns over reduced buying from India and Pakistan due to ongoing regional tensions.
