*MY EARLY MORNING LESSON*
TOPIC: *DESTINY RARELY MEETS YOU IN YOUR COMFORT ZONE.*
There comes a time in every man’s life when the voice of destiny calls, not with thunder or lightning, but with a whisper in the wind, barely audible above the noise of fear, familiarity, and the opinions of others. It’s a voice that says simply… “Come.” Peter heard it. In the middle of a violent storm, with waves rising like angry giants and the wind roaring like a thousand voices of doubt, Peter heard one voice, calm, steady, divine. “Come.” And in that moment, Peter made a decision that forever changed the trajectory of his life. He stepped over it. He stepped over people’s opinions: “Stay in the boat, Peter! This is madness!” He stepped over his own feelings of inadequacy: “Who am I to walk on water? I’m just a fisherman!” He stepped over the supposed safety of the boat, yes, even the illusion of safety in a place that was already shaking. See, the storm is not always the real barrier. Sometimes, the real storm is inside, the familiar voices, the internal hesitations, the chains of comfort, the prison of predictability.
Destiny rarely meets you in the comfort zone. Destiny lives in the realm of courage. Destiny breathes in the air of uncertainty. Destiny thrives where faith has to be stronger than fear. When God calls you to new levels, He’s not doing so because of your résumé or your qualifications. He’s calling because He sees potential in you that you have not yet seen in yourself. He calls the unqualified and then qualifies them through the furnace of faith. But here’s the price: to fulfill that call, you must be willing to do something that feels like insanity, leave the comfort zone. Leave the boat. Leave the familiar. Leave the crowd’s applause and their criticisms behind. And here’s why: the boat was built for sailing, not for miracles. The crowd was built for comfort, not for calling. But the water? The stormy, unstable, unpredictable water? That’s where the invitation lies: “Come.” Because when God calls you out, He’s not just calling you to survive the storm. He’s calling you to walk on top of what others are sinking in. God’s invitation is for you to walk on top of what others drown in. That depression that consumed others? You will walk on it. That failure that buried many? You will walk on it. That rejection, that pain, that loss, that limitation, He’s calling you to walk on it if only you will step over it.
So, what’s keeping you in the boat today? Is it the voice of your past? The shame of failure? The comfort of what’s known? Is it the fear of failing in front of others? Is it the weight of public opinion? Or the pain of private doubt Whatever it is, step over it. Because staying in the boat might keep you safe, but it will never let you soar. Remaining in the comfort zone might earn you applause, but it will never let you touch your destiny. Walking on water is not for the crowd. It’s for the called. And yes, you might sink… but you will never drown in obedience. Step over it, my friend. Because destiny is not found in comfort. It’s found on the waters of divine risk, sustained by faith, and secured by the hand that never lets go.
