Drone strike hits major Russian gunpowder plant overnight Overnight on May 29, a drone struck the Tambov Gunpowder Plant in the city of Kotovsk, Russia’s largest producer of small arms and artillery ammunition propellant, sources in the Russian Emergencies Ministry told ASTRA. A fire broke out on the roof of one of the warehouses. Employees were evacuated, and no injuries were reported. Earlier, Russia’s Defense Ministry said one drone was shot down over the Tambov region overnight. The plant was previously targeted in January this year, as well as in July 2024 and November 2023.
