God is the Giver of all good gifts, capacities and graces. Everyone is important and special. None is more or less special. There is none who is a ‘nobody’ in life. God did not create anyone ‘a nobody’. All are created noble, honourable and worthy. God created all and each with a unique blessing and special gift. Life is a division of labour, every one doing that for which they are best purposed and fitted. We are exhorted not to be high-minded beyond that which he ought to be minded, but to be minded unto sober-mindedness. We must resist all kinds of undue self-elevation. We are enjoined not to be drunk with a proud and overweening conceit of own self, own wisdom, own ability and own sagacity. Let us each have a sober and just estimate of self. This sober estimate locates the ‘task and ask’ God gave us in this life. Never overestimate or underestimate yourself. We are not, therefore, to be elated in our view of ourselves; we are not to judge of our own characters by dint of wealth, or talent, or education , but by our attachment to service and sacrifice as given to us by OurLord, Our Creator. Arrogance produces or promotes pride. Valuing others effectually secures one unimpeachable humility. Humility is a gift- a God-given gift. Be humble ! Happy sabbath family !
