The Yatra, scheduled to commence on July 3, 2025, is expected to draw thousands of pilgrims entering via Lakhanpur. Accompanied by ASP Kathua Rahul Charak, ADC Vishavjeet Singh, and CPO Kathua Ranjit Thakur and District and Sectoral Officers, the DC reviewed all key reception points and civic amenities established at Lakhanpur. These include lodgement centres, registration kiosks, and public sanitation facilities. The DC specifically inspected toilet complexes, fabricated toilets besides discussing the timely setting up of waterproof pandals, medical and help desks, control rooms, and cold drinking water stations. A key directive was issued to ensure that all toilet complexes and additional facilities are fully functional prior to the arrival of the first batch of yatris. Dr. Minhas also instructed the Executive Engineer, PWD to expedite the repair and renovation of the Lakhanpur corridor—emphasizing strict timelines to ensure the corridor is operational and well-equipped. He urged all stakeholder departments to collaborate proactively to provide a seamless, hassle-free pilgrimage experience. The DC stated that, “Our aim is to transform Lakhanpur into a multi‑facility hub. We’ve set up 36 lodgement centres, 6 RFID registration counters, clean lavatories, and entertainment zones to serve the yatris.” These enhancements align with best practices adopted in previous years to streamline pilgrim management and comfort.
